Rene Cota

Government contracting leader, Marine Corps combat veteran, veteran business advocate, and small business program development specialist.

Rene Cota is the founder and principal owner of CMG Alliance. He has built CMG around a mission of helping small and diverse businesses understand government contracting, compete more effectively, and move from general readiness into real contract opportunities.

Rene has extensive experience in government contract management, business development, procurement technical assistance, program production and implementation, proposal development support, contract acquisition planning, supplier diversity, and government procurement protocols.

Rene is a proud Marine Corps combat veteran with two tours of duty in the Middle East. His background has shaped CMG’s emphasis on discipline, preparation, accountability, and practical execution for contractors pursuing public-sector work.

Rene has served as Executive Director of the Disabled Veteran Business Alliance and has been involved in veteran business, small business, supplier diversity, and procurement advisory efforts. His work has included training and small business program development for organizations and initiatives connected to PTAC, SBDC, Ascend LA, LA Area Chamber, Southern California Edison, LA Metro, the Consulate General of Canada, and veteran economic outreach programs.
