The result has been that our projects have been featured on YELP, in Landscape Architecture Magazine, on HGTV’s “Ground Rules”, the Bravo TV series “Flipping Out” and the Etherworks Production “Sold on Green”. Sacred Garden Designs, Inc. is a Landscape Pro with Houzz for five consecutive years and is a 2015 Sustainable Business Council Nominee for the Best Public Advocate for Sustainability. Sacred Garden Designs, Inc. was founded by Denise Loy Buchanan who is a licensed C-27 Landscape Contractor and Sustainable Landscape Architectural Design Professional with a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture and a Master’s Degree and Ph.D in Psychology and Human Behavior. Denise’s unique inter-disciplinary approach blends her knowledge of landscape design and human behavior by designing environments which are not only aesthetically pleasing but which are environmentally responsible and healing to the human psyche. As a community leader, she provides native plant design and smart gardening workshops in schools and community colleges and has lectured at the University of Southern California where she has taught diverse student populations in topics covering Sustainable Management of Land and Water Resources, Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability in Marginal Environments, Urban Forests for Climate Modification, Urban Revitalization, Sustainable Urban Development and Cultural and Psychological Factors that influence human social behavior in public spaces.
